For a complete newbie a Hunter is the easiest to solo level. Shamans are fun too as are warlocks.
Some classes i wouldnt recommend for a new player: Warrior, priest, mage, pally
Not every class suits every player tho m8 so if you don’t like a class give another a shot. Most classes don’t get going till level 10 so stick with them till then at least ![]()
The reason i said a warrior? because for the non wow guy, its the easiest to understand, you have loads of health and you just bash away. level speed means nothing if you are grouped with friends all the time anyway, If you plan to play solo, god help you.
Just pick the one you think looks good, all of the classes are easy to play, so it just comes down to preference, don’t be put off a class you were going to pick because someone doesn’t recommend them, all classes have their uses.
]]>Alliance - Human - Male - Mage
That’s what I chose for my first character (I’ve always gone for casters)
Certainly one of the easiest ones to level up in the early stages, and you’re much less likely to be caught off guard by similar-level animals as you roam through the forests. Mages are one of the heaviest hitters in the game.
Warlocks aren’t exactly loved by most non-warlocks, but hunters are pretty much hated by everyone except hunters
A friend of mine recently started WoW after a 12 month break and had forgotten everything about everything. He jumped in with a new warlock character and he’s enjoying every second of it now.
Best of luck with it ![]()
I have singled them out as the best races for Hunters. I wish I could fast forward to level 10 when I get my first pet wolf. But don’t worry, I’ll be pouring as much of my resources as possible into researching Beast Mastery so my wolf won’t be annoying and untamed.
Aside from that, they are small and will make wolf look huge :p
]]>It consistantly pushes you to spend more time in the game, doing more and more, larger things, which require even more of your time. Untill eventually your doing “instances” which further tie you down, all the time slowly sucking your will to enjoy things outside of WoW.
Some might cry “But what about PvP!?”; and thats nice and all, if youve already wasted months of your life building a character that will actually make it fun.
This isnt the type of game your used to, and if your not aware of the dangers involved, its best to cop on now.
I suggest, you drop it and stick to the games which dont have alternate intentions and stick to the ones which can be turned off as easily as a light switch.

]]>To answer your WoW question (if you haven’t decided already!) I would recommend a Warlock as a class that is very easy to solo. Their use of pets (especially Voidwalker) takes the pressure of the mobs beating on you - leaving you free to sit back and curse/spell the mobs to death from afar. This play style is very similar to a Hunter - but I prefer the Warlock simply because of the vast differences in how you do damage.
For a Hunter you will send in your pet, click on Autoshoot and sit back and wait for the mob to die - very botlike and boring, IMO. With a Warlock you send in your pet, apply your curses and other DoT’s, then pull out your wand and start casting. If you or your pet get low on health - no problem - you’ve got healthstones and health funnel to help you there. Pull an extra mob? No problem with that either - simply fear the unwanted mob(s) until you’re ready to focus on them.
That being said, I think the most important thing in selecting a class/race is to pick the one that appeals to you the most - both play style and aestetics. You’re going to be looking at/listening to this toon for 400+ hours if you’re leveling to 60 and you’ll want something you won’t get sick of.
Cheers and best of luck in WoW.
