Taking the plunge into World of Warcraft
Yes. It’s not a figment of your imagination. After becoming a little weary of UT2004, I’m going to give it a break until UT3 comes out. One of my friends who has a few WOW accounts has offered me one of them to play, so the game I have slated for so long is finally going to get a few minutes of my time so I can really evaluate if it is as big a waste of energy as I have always thought it is.
At the minute I haven’t even gotten the game yet and my excitement has gotten the best of me. I’m trying to decide which character I will use. Now bare in mind this isn’t the expansion to the game. I will just have the original.
So my avid readers. What is the best character for WOW beginners?
Movie downloading in France judged legal for private use
Last Thursday, a French appeal court made a an epic ruling which could set a predecent the file-sharing that neither the file-sharing or Anti file-sharing lobbyists could have foreseen. The French Court of Appeal of Montpellier ruled in favour of a 22 year old man who had downloaded almost 500 movies online. He didn’t stop at this. He burned them onto CD’s and shared them with his friends.
The court’s decision was based on the French Law “article L-122-5″ which states:
“Authors can’t forbid copies or reproductions that are only intented for the private use of the copyist.”

WoW player reaches level 70 in newly released “The Burning Crusade” in a record 28 hours
[ratings]
Blizzard Entertainment released The Burning Crusade, their highly anticipated expansion to their hugely popular MMORPG title World of Warcraft just a few days ago. Some friends of mine couldn’t think of anything else but this in the days preceding the release. Some had prepaid for the game, awaiting midnight January 16th with almost unbearable excitement. This was a huge deal to the 8 million WOW players everywhere. This was supposed to be the rebirth of their addiction.
Noone expected what actually happened though. Gullerbone, 24, a hardcore World of Warcraft player from France reached level 70, the games highest level within 28 hours of its release. He is believed to be the first in the world.

Ireland’s Sony Playstation 3 / PS3’s more expensive than the rest of Europe
[ratings]
Yes, we are getting ripped off again. Is it by Sony, or our government with the hefty 21% VAT we charge? I’ll leave you to decide.
Sony has confirmed that the 60GB Playstation 3 will retail in Ireland for €629.99 despite the fact that they will be available in the rest of Europe for €599.99.
A spokesperson for Sony had this to say:
“Ireland is traditionally more expensive than other territories,” the spokesperson explained.
“The VAT rate there is 21 per cent, whereas it can be as low as 16 per cent in other EU countries.”
Further details of the Irish and European launches are expecting in the next couple of weeks.

Twenty-eight-year-old Jennifer Strange of Rancho Cardova, California was found dead the same afternoon after competing in KDND 107.9 radio’s “Hold your wee for a wii” competition.
The idea behind the competition was the keep giving the contestants water until they had to run to the toilet to relieve themselves. The last remaining contestant would win the wii.
Unfortunately, Jennifer didn’t win, left work because of headaches later in the day and was found dead later that evening. A preliminary autopsy reported that she died from “water intoxication”.

Nintendo Wii is the future: A Review
[ratings]
I took a little trip with a few friends last Saturday morning to the far off land of Northern Ireland. Why? you might ask. Well, a friend of mine purchased the new Nintendo Wii on its release date along with an extra controller and a few games. So after roughly 10 hours of Wii on the weekend, here is my review.
This is without doubt the future of console gaming. The motion sensitive control is still in its infancy but it is so innovative, and so much god damn fun. We couldn’t get enough of Wii sports with bowling, tennis, golf and even boxing. We were hooked!
