Dardoz gets stuck in

$25 million for a carbon dioxide sucker anyone?

I was sitting down on a rare occasion watching TV on Saturday flicking through the channels as you do when something caught my attention: Sir Richard Branson talking about the ozone layer on the Richard & Judy Show of all places.

It turns out Sir Richard Branson or Virgin, his company to be more specific is offering €25 million to any scientist who can come up with a way of sucking the carbon dioxide greenhouse gases from the atmosphere.

Branson talked about how some scientists believe we have already gone past the point of no return. That even if we drastically reduce the amount of gases we omit into the ozone, that the damage is irreparable.

In a nutshell, the earth is definitely, according to the majority of experts going to heat up to 2/3 degrees. It is not possible to prevent this. However, if we continue to clog our atmosphere with carbon dioxide gases, it could heat up by as much as 5 degrees. The end result being that our planet would die.

However, as Branson said “”Man created the problem, therefore man should solve the problem.”

Former senator in the US, Al Gore is backing Branson. Gore said: “Up until now, what has not been asked seriously on a systematic basis is: ‘Is there some way that some of that extra carbon dioxide may be scavenged effectively out of the atmosphere?’ And no one knows the answer to that.”

Now get to work scientists.
